Voicemail is provided by your mobile carrier. Start in the Phone app; if visual voicemail is unavailable, press and hold 1 to call the carrier's voicemail system.
Quick answer: Open the Phone app.
Steps: Set Up Voicemail on Android
- Open the Phone app.
- Press and hold 1, or tap Voicemail if that tab is available.
- Follow the carrier prompts to create a PIN and record a greeting.
- Call your number from another phone and leave a test message.
- If setup fails, confirm that voicemail is included on your mobile plan.
Before you finish
- Changing phones does not always reset a carrier voicemail PIN.
- Visual voicemail availability depends on the carrier, country and phone app.
- Never choose an easily guessed PIN such as 0000 or your birth year.
If the menu is different
Use the search box at the top of Settings and search for the key control in
this guide. Pixel uses Google's labels; Samsung, Motorola, OnePlus and other
manufacturers may move the same control or rename one level of the menu. Check
the support page for your exact model before using a reset or erase command.
