Use Google's Find Hub from another signed-in device or a web browser to locate, ring, secure or erase the phone. Prepare it before a loss by enabling location, a screen lock and offline finding.

Quick answer: On the phone, turn on Location and set a PIN, pattern or password.

Steps: Find a Lost Android Phone

  1. On the phone, turn on Location and set a PIN, pattern or password.
  2. Open Settings, Google, All services, then Find Hub and allow the device to be located.
  3. Enable offline finding if it is offered.
  4. After a loss, visit android.com/find and sign in to the same Google Account.
  5. Ring or secure the phone first; erase it only when recovery is no longer realistic.

Before you finish

  • Erasing protects data but normally ends your ability to locate the phone.
  • Contact the carrier to suspend the SIM after securing your accounts.
  • Do not confront someone at a displayed location; involve local authorities.

If the menu is different

Use the search box at the top of Settings and search for the key control in
this guide. Pixel uses Google's labels; Samsung, Motorola, OnePlus and other
manufacturers may move the same control or rename one level of the menu. Check
the support page for your exact model before using a reset or erase command.
