Uninstall downloaded apps from the launcher, Settings or Google Play. Built-in system apps may only allow Disable, which stops them and hides their updates without removing the base package.

Quick answer: Press and hold the app icon, then tap App info.

Steps: Uninstall Apps on Android

  1. Press and hold the app icon, then tap App info.
  2. Choose Uninstall and confirm.
  3. If Uninstall is unavailable, check whether Disable is appropriate.
  4. For a stubborn app, remove its Device admin or Accessibility access first.
  5. Review subscriptions separately; uninstalling an app does not cancel billing.

Before you finish

  • Save or export app data you need before removal.
  • Work-profile apps may be controlled by an employer or school.
  • Do not use random debloating commands on a primary phone without a recovery plan.

If the menu is different

Use the search box at the top of Settings and search for the key control in
this guide. Pixel uses Google's labels; Samsung, Motorola, OnePlus and other
manufacturers may move the same control or rename one level of the menu. Check
the support page for your exact model before using a reset or erase command.
